Aunt Lu

Today is a sad one, as we have lost a living angel, my dear Aunt Lu. She was a rock for our family; she took care of us all. She had the sweetest soul. I remember staring at pictures of her when I was five years old thinking she was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. My Aunt Lu was beautiful on the inside and out. She was the best aunt, mom and wife. I will miss her sweet voice, her calling to sing me happy birthday every year, her motherly/nurse emails with the best advice, her amazing cooking (especially the salads), and hearing her say, "I love you to the moon and back." Aunt Lu, we love you to the moon and back.

Big Boy Room

Welcome to Cohen's Big Boy Room!

The inspiration for the room started with three beach paintings by Granddad.

It is going to take Cohen all of 20 seconds to wreck this bookshelf.

Cohen slept in his Big Boy Room last night for the first time. I swear, he makes things so easy on us sometimes! He loved reading books in his new chair and getting into his new bed. No fussing at all! He slept the entire night without a peep. Change is much harder for adults sometimes. Cohen has really surprised us with a few big transitions. He had zero problem the first night we let him "cry it out" (there was no crying involved and he slept through the night). He gave me no problems transitioning from two naps to one. And he is so excited about his new room!

We're almost finished organizing Henry's room (or reorganizing Cohen's old room!).

My Boys

We're just livin' life right now - nothing special to report - but had to post a picture of my happy boys. I can't believe in a few short weeks, we'll have another addition to this family. More good times in the future. Can't wait!

Our Little Family

Here are some pictures our sweet friend, Courtney, took when we were home in Jacksonville. As you can see, Cohen had the best time at the beach, and we're very excited about our new little man on the way.

Catch-Up

We have been busy-busy the past couple of weeks - sorry for the lack of posts! I have been nesting like crazy, and poor David is just trying to keep up. We are almost finished setting-up Cohen's new bedroom downstairs and touching-up Henry's new room. I feel like we're racing against time to complete everything before Henry arrives. We are definitely ready to meet our new little guy!

Life with Cohen just gets better and better! He is really loving his train table lately. He likes to build the tracks himself and climb on the table. I know when he wants to go upstairs to play with it - he stands on the bottom stair (he knows not to go further!) and waves and says "bye!" to me. We then head up to play.

Cohen has gotten really good at jumping. He loves to dance too! His current favorite songs are "Say Hey" by Michael Franti, "American Baby" by Dave Matthews Band and "Steal My Kisses" by Ben Harper. Cohen is still infatuated with "The Baby." Aunt Laura and I caught him having a private conversation with the baby last week. It was too cute for words. Cohen talks a lot, but the words don't always sound like English. My personal favorite thing he says is, "yeah!" It's his response to most things, and he says it so sweetly.
