Crawling

Our Hendog is a legitimate crawler now! He has gone from scooting to the army crawl to crawling on his hands and knees in just a few days. Our house has officially gotten crazier.

Cohen was a great cheerleader the whole way. We always cheer, "Go Henry, go!" as he was rocking back and forth on his hands and knees. Cohen would always say, "He did it!" after Henry would make a move.

Fun in the sun!

We were blessed with beautiful weather this weekend! Cohen hit golf balls with David Saturday morning, then Henry and I met them at the pool in the early afternoon. After naps, we went over to the Brennans' to splash around in Evan's new pool. It took Henry a couple of minutes to get used to the idea of the pool. As soon as he realized how fun it was, he splashed around for a full hour! After the pool party, Uncle Gardner arrived in town. We've had a great Sunday playing at the pool and outside with friends. The weekends go by too quickly!

Cohen's new favorite play spot is the mulch in our front yard. He has scattered about 20 different trucks, shovels, watering cans, water squirters and action figures in the front garden.

Happenings

With two boys, there is never a dull moment in our house. These guys keep me busy non-stop. This week, we've already had some new experiences. Henry moved out of his infant carrier into a big boy car seat! Our 22-pounder was packed into that carrier like a sardine, so I decided it was time to make the move. He seems to like it so far!

Our Stinka Man is constantly keeping us on our toes these days. He'll be two-and-a-half next month, and he is definitely in that twos stage parents warn you about (we'll just leave it at that). Monday afternoon, I heard "Mommy! MOMMY!" come from Cohen's bedroom (as he was supposed to be napping). The next thing I heard was the doorknob turning...turning and opening. That little Stinka climbed out of his crib! I dealt with the situation as best as I could. He has only made one other attempt to climb out, but I caught it on the video monitor before it could happen. I'm not ready for him to be in a bed yet!

Even though Cohen has moments of frustration or tests his boundaries throughout the day, he still has the sweetest personality. One thing that I love is that he now says his prayers all by himself at night. He has everything memorized - the prayer, every single grandparent, aunt, uncle, friend, dog...and he CANNOT finish the prayer without thanking God "for fixing Henry's heart. Amen." So sweet. When he reads books on his own, he always says, "Amen," as he closes them. Too cute.

He is still obsessed with "Taaget." He spotted these blue sunglasses and HAD to try them on.

Hendog's favorite game is peek-a-boo. He pulls blankets or shirts over his face and immediately starts kicking and squealing while we say, "Where's Henry?" He cracks up with the biggest smile on his face and pulls the shirt down when we say, "Peek-a-boo!"

Henry is getting closer to crawling. He rocks back and forth on his hands and knees all the time.

Mother's Day

I had the best Mother's Day weekend! David and the boys made the whole weekend fun and special. They gave me flowers, a hand-made card, made stuffed french toast for breakfast, let me sleep in Saturday and Sunday, gave me lots of extra hugs and a new iphone!

Saturday was our neighborhood's annual Midwood Mania. The day-long festival kicked-off with a Pet Parade around the neighborhood. Cohen loved seeing all of the animals and band. Before he left the house, he said, "Pet Pawade, doggies and penguins. No ewafants." He loves penguins these days...and elephants. The four of us headed-up to the park after the parade to enjoy the bounce houses, snow cones and other fun games for kids. After long afternoon naps, we went back to listen to the bands and see all of our wonderful neighborhood friends. We also had a great time visiting with our good friends, Anna and Jon Farrin, who were in town over the weekend!

Sunday morning, we went to church on the lawn. We relaxed the rest of the afternoon and capped the day off by playing with all of our Club Road friends. Cohen had the time of his life splashing around in the pool, playing with trucks, riding big wheels and eating hotdogs with all of his buddies. David made us dinner too! The day was beautiful, and I couldn't be more thankful for my boys. I am so blessed, being a mom is the best thing in this world!

Hendog has given me one of the BEST Mother's Day gifts. He says, "Ma, Ma, Ma, Ma" all the time!! And he even looks at me, smiling, while he says it.

Cohen is the sweetest little boy. He says, "Mommy, I wuv yoo," all the time.

We had pizza for dinner on Friday - It was so good, Cohen kept giving high-fives.
