Week Recap

There's never a dull moment in our house with Cohen around. He has turned into quite the wiggle-worm, and we have our hands full! Cohen has mastered rolling onto his stomach, and he is starting to scoot around the floor. It won't be long before he's crawling all over the place. Also, there is no cuddling Cohen in our arms anymore. If we hold him, he is wiggling and reaching out for everything. Cohen is so strong, smart and curious. Every day is an adventure!

We are always trying to come up with new, fun things to hold Cohen's attention. Our church had a festival for the neighborhood Sunday afternoon, so we walked there to join in on the fun. Cohen loved looking at the rides, but he broke-down when Dad took him on the merry-go-round. We also enjoyed a Mommy-and-Me Yoga class with Lillian and Paige this week. Cohen didn't get into a zen state because he was too busy trying to crawl and look at the other people. The three of us walked to our neighborhood park on Wednesday. Cohen loved watching Dad and "Uncle" Mike play tennis! Aunt Laura stopped by that afternoon to get her Cohen fix. We chowed-down on burgers at Big Daddy's Friday night, and we even saw a real-life sports star...Steve Smith! It was pretty cool!

Doesn't he look cute?! At least Mom thinks so. I can't wait 'til football season. Cohen and I listen to the FSU fight song and war chant at least once a week. He's going to know them by heart come September!

Draft Day!

Go Jaguars! Cohen's first NFL draft was a blast, and Dad is very happy with the Jag's picks. We had a great time with our friends Anna, Jon, Morgan, Tyler, Brooke and Mike! The brats and kabobs were delicious, and Cohen of course loved his rice cereal. Thanks Ace for Cohen's Jaguars shirt!

Times Have Changed

It still amazes me how awesome life is now that we share it with Cohen. I remember the days of staying up late and sleeping 'til 11:00 like it was no big deal. Today, we had playtime, changed two blow-out diapers, had three outfit changes, drove to and walked through the park with Paige and Lillian, threw in a load of laundry and picked-up the house all by 11:30. It's crazy how much you can accomplish when you wake up at 7 a.m.! Life is so different, and so much better. I cry at least once a day because I am so thankful to have our sweet, precious miracle, Cohen. I love how he grabs my whole face with his hands and tries to kiss me. I love how he stares at me and smiles. I love his sweet giggle. I adore everything about him. Alright, enough blogging...off to play with the little man!

What a week!

We had a fabulous week in Charlotte! Cohen moved to his crib without a hitch, he started eating rice cereal, he is napping on a regular schedule, we had a play date with Paige and her beautiful 8-week old, Lillian, we went to a cookout and Cohen met tons of new friends and we played, played, played! Cohen is such a strong baby; He pulled himself up and rolled out of his bouncy chair onto the floor. Poor little buddy face-planted and got his first boo-boo. He is a tough little guy and only cried for a minute! When Dad told Mom what happened, she cried longer than Cohen. Don't worry, we called the doctor, and Cohen is fine!

Babies, Babies, Babies

Something is in the water my friends. We have so many babies on the way, and Cohen is very excited about it! Carrie & John, Kim & John, Sarah & Thomas, Tracy & Clay, Amanda & Rice, Anna & Jeff, Jessica & Joel, Christine & James (expecting twins!)...Cohen is going to have a lot of friends to play with this fall. Congratulations everyone! Parenthood is the most exciting and fun experience in the world. We look forward to meeting the precious bundles of joy!

Easter Baptism

We had an extra special Easter this year not only because we shared it with Cohen, but because he was baptized. It was a beautiful day in Jacksonville on Sunday, and our whole family joined us at Community Presbyterian Church for the service. David and I were so happy that Cohen was baptized at our home church by Rev. Gabe Goodman. Cohen was so precious during the baptism. He smiled and "talked" and couldn't have been happier to be baptized. After church, we all gathered at Pam and Rick's for Easter lunch. It was so much fun to celebrate the blessed day with our family. Thank you all for joining us! And an extra special thanks to Aunt Margaret, Uncle Ed, Aunt Lynn, Lindsay, Andy, Jake, Aunt Pat and Cousin Win for making the trip to celebrate, and a HUGE thanks to Pam and Rick for hosting the amazing Easter lunch!

J-Ville

After Cohen's doctor's appointment last Tuesday, we packed-up the car and braved the long drive home to Jacksonville. Cohen did such a great job considering his longest stint in the car seat has been for 20 minute car rides around Charlotte. We arrived at GG and Papa's around 10 p.m. that night, and Cohen settled right into the laid-back beach attitude.

We went to dinner at Mojo's Wednesday night with GG, Papa, Nana and Pop.

Cohen had so much fun walking around Atlantic Beach! He experienced his first of many trips to Al's and the beach. It was great to hang out with Jessica, Eric and little Ace!

Cohen was such a good boy on the ride home. Easter traffic was bad, and we sat on I-95 for about 30 minutes because of a wreck. We had a wonderful week at home, but we were glad to finally get back to Charlotte.

Four Months Old

Cohen turned four months on April 6th! We can't believe how quickly he is growing up. He had a great check-up with Doctor Ball. She couldn't believe how strong our little guy is! Cohen weighed-in at 14 lbs 9 oz and is now 24 1/2 in long. He was having a wonderful time flirting with Doctor Ball and the nurses...that is until the two shots. Cohen recovered quickly, though! We're so lucky to have a happy and healthy boy, and we are excited to try out rice cereal this week!

A Beautiful Weekend

We had a gorgeous weekend in Charlotte! The weather was in the mid-seventies and abundant sunshine. Katie and David enjoyed a couple of outdoor runs with Cohen and Grady, and Cohen went to his first cookout (we actually went to two cookouts Saturday!). We were also excited to finally join Kilgo United Methodist Church this morning! Pastor Mike and the congregation welcomed us with open arms, and we are very happy to have a church home. David drove to Augusta this afternoon for The Masters, and Aunt Laura is spending the night with Cohen and Katie. We can't wait to leave for Jacksonville on Tuesday!

Meg Madness

We had a blast with Cousin Meg this week! Cohen absolutely loves her. We've gone on walks, had dinner at Thomas Street, shopped, visited with Laura, Claire and Elisa, grilled out and had many laughs. We will miss Meg when she leaves tomorrow! Cohen can't wait to meet Hayley, Aunt Lu and Uncle Hank next week!
