We're heading to Jacksonville for a week, and Cohen couldn't be happier to hang out at the beach!

Happy Memorial Day!

We've had one heck of a Memorial Day weekend. Our other baby, Grady, got very sick early Sunday morning. We were up half the night with him and had to take him to an emergency vet yesterday afternoon. He is feeling a little bit better now, thank The Lord! David and I were quite the team. He manned the downstairs with Grady, and I manned the upstairs with Cohen last night. Hopefully things will return to normal in our house tonight.

On to happier news, Cohen tasted his first vegetable today...sweet potatoes! He loved them, just like I knew he would! I made a bunch of homemade baby food this morning, so we'll see if he continues to like sweet potatoes this week. I'm thinking he'll either try out squash or avocado next week! Yum...

We enjoyed dinner with our friend, Heather, and her sweet boy, Finn, Saturday night. Cohen and Finn loved giving hugs!

Toys!

Cohen wishes he could be at the beach this Memorial Day weekend, but he's happy to be in Charlotte with his new toys. We made a trip to Target this week to pick-up some new things for Cohen. He really loves everything, but his favorite things are still magazines, beer bottles, furniture, books and feet. Oh well, we tried!


Cohen will do great in the Johnny Jump Up as soon as he decides not to eat it.

Cohen and The Duck

Cohen still loves his baths, and he has become obsessed with "The Duck" (the spout cover in the tub). It sometimes becomes too distracting during bath time and we have to take it off. Cohen is so strong that he literally pulls himself up with little help to grab "The Duck." Here's how it usually goes down...

Cohen - "That duck is giving me the eye."

What a Weekend

We had a blast this weekend with Brooke and Michael! Aunt Laura babysat Cohen Thursday night, and we went up to Thomas Street to celebrate Criswell's birthday. The cookout Friday was so much fun, it even ended with some late-night arm wrestling. Good times, good times! Thanks Brooke and Michael for visiting! We love you guys.

Deborah stopped by with her adorable daughter, Julia, this afternoon. We had a blast watching Cohen and Julia play. Cohen had a hard time keeping his hands off Julia. I am afraid she might think boys have cooties. I'll let the pictures tell the story...

Five Months Old...Already?

Wow, where does the time go? We cannot believe Cohen is five months old. He has turned into a little man overnight! Honestly, we could not ask for a better baby. Cohen is an angel! He grows bigger and stronger by the day, and he is scooting all over the floor. Cohen is our little rolly polly and wiggle-worm.

Peace

We had a very hard rain early this evening, but once the clouds cleared, the beautiful sun peaked through the soaked trees. It was one of the most peaceful moments I've experienced in a very long time. I stopped to enjoy the sound of the raindrops falling off the leaves and the birds chirping. Life is good.
