Our friends, Nick and Jess, stopped through Charlotte on their cross-country tour last week. It was great catching up, and Cohen loved making new friends. Hopefully we can visit them in California soon! If you're interested, you can follow their trip here.

Here they are...the three cutest babies at story time!  Cohen, Lillian and Julia are the life of the party everywhere we go.  I am so thankful to have Paige and Deborah to hang out with during the week.  We have so much fun with our little munchkins!  Here we are kickin' it at ImgainOn this morning.  David surprised Cohen and met us there too!

Crib Crasher

What would you do if you walked into your son's room and found him like this (instead of napping)?

First, you would freak out because your baby almost climbed out of his crib. Second, you would laugh because he's so cute and happy to see you. Cohen started pulling-up in his crib on Friday. We have since lowered the mattress, but he is still standing, hanging over the edge. I don't think he can get out, but I watch him on the video monitor until he falls asleep.

Cohen will usually rip an animal off the mobile, lose balance and crash into the crib. Thank goodness for bumpers. I know he is using the bumper to help pull-up, but he's so determined, I know he'd find a way to stand without it. Cohen usually repeats this process a few times before eventually falling asleep. He is pulling-up on things around the house as well...bookshelves, tables, Mom...of course, always supervised!

Swingin'

We are having one busy summer. Cohen and I don't sit still for a minute! Lately, we've been taking afternoon walks to our neighborhood park. Cohen loves to swing! He is fearless. The higher, the better. I think Cohen takes after his mom. He'll be skydiving before we know it.

Firsts

Team Hathaway has experienced many firsts this week. The most exciting is Cohen's first kiss! We were at Bouncing Books at the library, and a cute 13-month-old took a liking to Cohen. Next thing I knew, she was bending over, planting a wet one on him. It was priceless! Second, we left Cohen with his first real babysitter Friday night. Granted, he was sleeping the entire time we were gone, but Liz took wonderful care of Cohen! Third, I have become an aunt! That's right, Laura finally got a dog...the cutest golden retriever named George. I'm in love with him! Lastly, we're babyproofing the house. Please refer to the pictures below. Need I say more?

Seven Months of Sweetness

I am not one to brag, but we have the best boy in the world. He is pure sweetness. Each month, I think to myself, this is the best age yet. I cannot believe Cohen is seven months old...and this really is the most fun age so far! How on Earth did we get so lucky? Just look at that precious face. I am so thankful that I get to kiss those cheeks over and over each and every day.

Pooped Out

We need a vacation from our vacation. Pawleys was a blast, but we played way too hard all week. Our camera broke while we were there, so we only have a few pictures to show of our fun. The camera made a miraculous comeback on the last day, thank goodness! Cohen loved spending time with all of his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also enjoyed mouthfuls of sand, splashes in the saltwater, walks on the beach and relaxing in the rocking chair. We all had fun celebrating GG and Papa's 34th anniversary, Uncle Hank's birthday and my birthday. Thank you GG and Papa for an amazing vacation!

I'm Out!

I'm headed to Pawleys Island, where the bocce balls fly, the girls wear bikinis and the beer flows like water.

What a Life

Cohen is having the most fun! Mom is worn-out. We play, play, play all day, every day. Cohen makes sure we constantly stay busy. The big news this week is that Cohen went to the YMCA Child Watch for the first time. Things were going great when I left, but when I returned 50 minutes later, I heard screaming, crying, and I knew it was my baby. Poor little buddy. He immediately stopped when I held him. He doesn't know it yet, but we're going for round two tomorrow. I pray it goes a little better than last time. We really want Cohen to be a well-adjusted baby. He's spoiled having his Mom around all of the time, and I need a break every now and then! I'm going to make sure they put him with the "big kids" - not the babies. I think he will do better having older children to interact with and move around more.

Other than the YMCA incident, this week has been a blast! We enjoyed hanging out with our old neighbors, Amanda and Graham. Their swing set is awesome! We also made a trip to Target to pick-up a bunch of new toys. Cohen and Julia had a play date too! Our daily activities include a walk around the neighborhood in the Baby Bjorn with Grady in the morning, swings in the hammock and a walk at night with Dad. The rest of the day is filled with Mom chasing Cohen around the house...he is scooting everywhere and getting into everything. Vacuuming is now a daily chore. Oh, and we are also enjoying story and music time at the library! Cohen has quite the life. Eat, sleep, play. Eat, sleep, play.

Happy Daddy's Day!

We have had a fabulous Father's Day weekend! Cohen and I are so thankful for David. He makes everything fun and he takes such great care of us!
Aunt Laura and Uncle Mike babysat Friday night so we could go out to celebrate. We had so much fun at Mez, the hip new restaurant/lounge/movie theater. After seeing The Hangover, we came home and enjoyed an old-fashioned late-night dance party...just like the old days. Good times! David played golf Saturday, and Sunday morning we went to breakfast and the pool at Carolina Club. Cohen, David and I are worn-out from the fun-filled weekend.

It's a Date

Cohen was so excited to see his girl, Lillian, this afternoon! She and her mom, Paige, came over for a play date, which basically consisted of Cohen trying to maul Lillian while the moms chatted.
