Settling-In

Our last week in Charlotte was a whirl-wind, packing-up the house and saying our good-byes. Cohen's last day of school was tough. I was in tears as we hugged our friends for the last time. Cohen had no clue what was going on - he was thrilled that I brought cookies for the class, that he got a gift and all the attention was on him.
Mrs. Devant & Ms. DeJesus - love them!
We had our friends and neighbors over for a bounce house party right before we left town.
Cohen and his buddy, Finn. It's sad leaving wonderful neighbors/friends like the Hovelands!

Courtney snapped some pictures on our porch right before we left town.

I am still sad thinking about our Club Rd house. It was the best. We love our new house - it truly is our "dream" house, but I am still trying to make it feel like our home. I know it will take time. We are busy decorating, but I will have pictures of our Myra St house soon!
I will always miss our old front porch.
And I will miss "the bench."
I am overly sentimental, so I will always be a little sad when I think about the life we left up there. But don't get me wrong, life down here is amazing...different, but wonderful! Beach life is laid-back. We ride bikes everywhere. The boys love the Madsen "bucket bike."
We do the same sort of things like going to the park, story time at the library,
and trips to the ice cream shop.

But this is our "backyard" now. This is where we play every day.

Cohen is a beach baby. He is fearless in the ocean, loves jumping in the water and having waves crash into him, rolling in the sand, building castles and saying "hello" to everyone who passes by.
We have to drag him off the beach every day.

Henry playing "Choo-Choos" on the front porch
Cohen watering the plants/making mud puddles...
and "gardening"
These two are lovin' life!
